WOW! What a fabulous lil trip to the VEGAS. So successful for a mini two day mid week trip. The Bride was stunning and the ceremony brought everyone to tears. Probably the most romantic thing I've ever seen and I couldn't be more happy for them. But now its back to reality for me and I'm exhausted beyond belief so that's it for now, I'll be back at it tomorrow once I wake from this Tylenol PM induced coma I'm about to enter.

..::Going to the Chapel of Love::..

Photobucket

I'm off to VEGAS tomorrow afternoon to attend the wedding of one of my SNOW LEOPARDS and I couldn't be more EXCITED! I can already tell tonight is going to be a sleepless night and work is probably going to drag on for days tomorrow, but once I hit LAX all will be forgotten and it will be time to CELEBRATE! The bride will be wearing white and as the Snow Leopard of Honor, I'll be wearing Marc Jacobs. Thank gooooodness there will be no orange, but our spots will be present nonetheless! Naturally the above Haiku couldn't be more perfect for this Snow Leopard Wedding than if it were made for us. LOVE IT.

P.S. I'll be back on Wednesday - hopefully in one piece!

Ahhh Home Sweet HOME!!! Yes that's right I am the proud renter of the MOST AMAZING lil bungalow that is just a hop, skip, and jump to the BEACH! Just in time for SUMMER!! Now that I know what kind of space I'm working with, I spent the majority of the weekend day-dreaming of how I'm going to decorate. The above are a collection of things on my wish list from Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. While I'm not looking forward to the actual packing and moving of all my treasures, I am more than ready to decorate my very first big girl home!

..::The Art of Storage::..

I'm in LOVE with the color in this bathroom, but I'm even more in love with the fact that all these necklaces are displayed on the wall as art/storage. This idea makes much more sense than stuffing these beautiful gems into a crammed jewelry box where no one can see them shine and the inevitably end up in a tangled mess. What's the point of buying beautiful things if they can only be enjoyed on occasion? I say show em off! However, I don't know about you, but like most things in my life, I like my showers HOT. With this in mind I might choose a different room to showcase my pretty lil trinkets to avoid water damage. Maybe this will be another idea to try out in my new abode.

Have you ever wondered how fish feel when people stare at them in the fish tank. Well after this afternoon I definitely know what it feels like. Today I went to look at what was possibly the MOST ADORABLE apartment. It was perfect for me. Great location, big kitchen, LOTS of CLOSET space, blah blah blah. The older woman who was showing the apartment took one look at me and made her decision before I even opened my mouth. She just stood and stared at me as I went on and on about how cute it was and how perfect it was for me. When she opened her mouth all that came out was, "You know there are a LOT of apartments for rent right now." Followed shortly by, "You look very young to be looking for your own apartment, especially in this neighborhood." Hmmm yeah she was judging me from the minute I pulled up outside in my car. GREAT, just freaking fantastic. At this rate I'll be living in a cardboard box on the beach under the pier. I kindly thanked her for her time and said I would be in touch when quite frankly I should have told her what was really on my mind. Something along the lines of, "You're a little too old and overweight to be wearing clothes that tight in those colors, dont you think?"

P.S. I totally want a hanging fish bowl in my new apartment - providing I ever find one.

I am, in so many ways a true girly girl, but every so often I'm also a lil edgy or so I like to think. I like to think of it like my personality - sweet but sassy. I have so much going on right now that its hard to think...let alone come up with something to write. I've been going through the motions all week, but I just feel VERY overwhelmed. Its been the kind of week where I've done incredibly stupid things just because I've been so tired and preoccupied - the kind of week where I just might go out and get a tattoo because I feel like it, but I won't because the girly girl in me thinks it would be more productive to bake something instead. It all comes full circle - I'm a COCKTAIL OF GIRLY EDGINESS, just like these pics that I'm in love with.

..::Celebrity Stalker::..

The following is a TRUE STORY about my Celebrity Stalker.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Do you ever have those moments where you suddenly find yourself connected to people or places or things in uncanny ways - almost as if the universe is pulling you together for some unexplained reason? STRANGE COINCIDENCES one might say or I have a celebrity stalker.... Remember when I wrote about running into Reese Witherspoon here at Madewell? Well I know I expressed it then, but just to reiterate I LOVE her. And word just broke that she's going to be playing in the movie adaptation of a blog I follow, The Pioneer Woman, which long story short is a blog about one woman's true life LOVE STORY. Then last week when I was in Vancouver my cousin posted the following on my facebook wall:

Photobucket

If you couldn't gather by that convo, I used to work at a lil Ice Cream store in Ojai, CA where I grew up. Funny that I met more famous people when I worked there than I have the whole 7 years that I've lived in LA - go figure. Annyyyywaaaaaay, last night I was perusing the internet when my roommate came in and told me that there were pictures of Reese and new BF, Jim Toth, walking in Ojai on Popsugar.com. So I headed over to check it out and see if I could tell whereabouts they were in the tiny lil town and what did I find?! I found Reese walking hand in hand through the arcade by the Ice Cream Store with Jim in a LMU Lions baseball cap - UMMMM HELLLO I WENT TO LMU FOR UNDERGRAD!!!

Photobucket

WEIRD RIGHT?!? I mean what in the world is the UNIVERSE trying to tell me here? Freaky weird how these things happen in life. You're walking along minding your own business, living your life, when suddenly you're bombarded with a string of coincidental happenings. Does this happen to other people, or is it just me?

..::The Chicken or the EGG?

Photobucket

My day was a lil something like this:

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down
He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
When you're having fun

Goodnesssss, do I LOVE The Bangles for putting into words what a whirl wind Mondays can be - especially Mondays after a nice 4 day weekend. And seriously my day was just like that, only I wasn't "Kissin' Valentino" in my dream - I was actually helping Karl design for the House of CHANEL. NO BIG DEAL. Yeah and that's when my alarm went off...le sigh. Do you ever wonder what people used to say about Mondays before 1986 when The Bangles released this song off their second album? Clearly they didn't spend their Mondays wandering around singing inside their heads about Manic Mondays like myself, so I ask you: Which came first the chicken or the egg? Thoughts...? And yes in case you were wondering - my day was sooooo MANIC that my outfit resembled something of the two ladies entangled in the photograph - a lil hodge podge of madness that all seemingly fit perfectly well together in spite of the disarray. Are you enjoying the complete randomness of my stream of thoughts...yeah that would be the 2 hours of sleep I got last night. Tylenol PM all the way tonight and I just can't WAIT!!!! And here is your random fact of today: PRINCE wrote the lyrics to MANIC MONDAY.

..::Spring Cleaning with a Teen Witch

Oh how I LOVE the first days of SPRING and the 80's! I know that most of you probably associate LA with being "SEASON-LESS" but let me tell you, you're dead wrong. I know that we might not experience the harsh seasonal extremes that other parts of the world have to deal with, but we do in fact, have seasons in LA. For most, the SPRING season is a time of new beginnings - flowers are blooming, the sun is shinning, the days are longer and suddenly everyone is just in a better mood because the snow has melted, the rain has subsided and you no longer need a jacket every time you leave the house. Spring is like the above clip from one of my favorite 80's movies, TEEN WITCH. Suddenly there is a new
found bounce in your step and a upbeat soundtrack playing in your head. RIGHT?!? Okay maybe that's just me....

Spring also signals the dreaded, but also enjoyable "SPRING CLEANING" ritual. Lets face it, it is one of those NECESSARY EVILS. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I particularly enjoy this activity, but I know that its necessary and I also know that I love the "IDEA" of it. Getting rid of stuff is an AMAZING FEELING, especially when you can donate it to people who seriously need it. I know I'm not the only one out there, but I also recognize that I am a VERY SENTIMENTAL person, some may argue that I'm a tad more sentimental than most. AND now for the CONFESSION: I KEEP EVERYTHING. Now I'm by no means a HOARDER, but I will say I hold onto things for far longer than I should because of the sentimental value they may hold in my heart. I mean I still have every diary I've written since the age of 8. Why you ask? Well I'll tell you why - THEY ARE HILARIOUS, like pee your pants funny. Okay now back to the real reason I even started this - I'm moving in a few weeks into a one bedroom apt and that means I MUST downsize my sentimental-ness. I've dedicated the next few weeks to "PURGING" my life of unnecessary materialistic "ish" and yes that means I'm finally throwing away that box of crap that reminds me of you, you, and oh yeah, you from the 8th grade. Damn I feel better already ;)
What's your favorite springtime ritual?

I landed back in the U.S. this morning to the most beautiful spring day, which instantly lifted my tired spirits and put a HUGE smile on my face as I drove from LAX with the windows down, sunroof open, and music blaring down PCH basking in the glorious sun. The healthy dose of sunshine left me in such a euphoric state of mind that I had ALMOST completely forgotten that I hadn't slept in over 20 hours. Needless to say that this 4 day weekend of mine is well deserved and the fact that the forecast calls for sunny 80 degree weather thru the weekend has me craving all things spring like. Finally time to get this girl some sleep - time to get back to our regularly scheduled program, I just can't wait.

..::Sleeping Awake

Photobucket

Photobucket

Okay so I'm in Vancouver, and I'm working nights which means I'm sleeping days - or at least trying to sleep during the day. When I got home this morning I was completely overwhelmed by thoughts of my social calendar for the next 3 months - Weddings, Babies, Moving, Parties - all combined with my never consistent work schedule of globetrotting. I got in my SUPER comfy cloud of a bed and tried to go to sleep, but I couldn't. My head was all abuzz with all the exciting things to come and I COULD NOT fall asleep for the life of me. Finally around 8am I drifted off, only to be woken 3 hours later at 11 when the fire alarm in my room was going off every minute with a VERY high pitched beep. I immediately called downstairs to inquire as to what was going on and if I needed to evacuate my room when I was notified by the not so friendly front desk man that it was a routine fire alarm check done by the fire station and they had no idea when it would end. YES, my lovlies, the fire alarm in my room went off every minute from 11am to 3pm. It took everything in me not to rip the pillows apart and scream at the top of my lungs in frustration. Yeah I was that cranky and guess what, I'm not over it yet. I feel about as dazed as the girl above looks.....my pillows survived, but I can't say the same for the alarm clock I may have "accidentally" knocked off the night table, oppsies.

Ooh-la-la fur, fur, and more FUR at the CHANEL Fall RTW Paris show! I would die to be sitting at that show - well any of Karl's shows for that matter. I know that you can't really see in the pictures, but there was a giant ice berg that the models were walking around and the floor was covered in ice and water! How amazing is that? The details - they get me every time. It will never cease to amaze me how important the details are in all creative realms. They really can make or break any creative endeavor from cake decorating to runway shows. I do have to say that there were several looks that I wasn't too ga-ga over, but the ones above definitely stole my heart. I know we are on the verge of Spring/Summer, but now I'm totally craving fur and chunky knit sweaters. Only fitting for this gloomy day in Vancouver I suppose...
