Quite often I find myself in certain situations that I find extremely funny. I am, if you will, a walking contradiction in many ways. Yesterday I walked into my kitchen and threw my purse on the ground and continued to unload my car full of goodies that I had just purchased from Bed, Bath and Beyond - finally I own some silverware, turns out the stuff is kind of a necessity for many meals....Anyway, I returned to the kitchen after I was done unwrapping all my new goodies and looked down at the ground where I saw my power drill peeking out of my Louis Vuitton Speedy. Yes my friends, that's just what I'm talking about. I am, indeed, that kind of girl who buys expensive handbags to tote around power tools. Goodness, I just love my life sometimes. Happy Friday!

..::Fashion Role Model::..

Phew what a whirlwind Tokyo has been! I've been working like crrrraaazy the past couple of days, but everything is coming together and is looking amazing so its all worth it. I was out and about and wandered into a GIGANTIC toy store called Kiddyland and came across an entire floor dedicated to Barbie collectibles! The most fascinating part was finding my VERY FIRST Barbie all brand new and shiny and in it's original box. I was tempted to buy it and bring it home, but I left Miss 1985 on the shelf with her peach colored dress in mint condition unlike the one I already own that I'm sure is shoved in a box in the attic with a head full of wild unkempt hair. Le sigh. Speaking of wild hair, mine is looking a little wind blown itself - note to self: Do not attempt to ride the subway with wet hair...

..::Work as Little as Possible::..

As hard as I work and as CRAZY as my schedule can get I really do try to live by the mantra "Work as little as POSSIBLE." How can I accomplish that while traveling the globe, well that's simple: 1) I happen to love what I do so the actual "work" isn't really work all the time and 2) when I'm not working I squeeze every ounce of fun out of my job that I can, in particular I try to make the most of my life on the road. Today was full of shopping, wandering, exploring, worshiping at a Temple, and amazing food. I took so many pictures today you would've thought I had a side job as a paparazzi. These are just a few from my adventure today as I'm far too exhausted to do an extensive post at the moment. Last year we opened the F21 in Harajuku and now we are back to open in Ginza which is the project I'm working on! Naturally I had to strike a pose in front of the current 5 story store for memories sake. Ginza is the more high end shopping district in Tokyo whereas Harajuku is far more hipster. I bet you'll never guess which high end retailer resides RIGHT next door to our new store in Ginza....I'll give you a hint....It's my all time fav place in the ENTIRE world....even thought I can't claim that I actually shop there, le sigh.

Konichiwa! I still can't believe I'm in TOKYO! Its such an amazing city - the electricity in the streets is unparalleled in any city I've yet to visit and I LOVE it. This is such a great experience and I feel so fortunate to be living it! Today I saw many girls sporting this hair bow look a- la Lady Gaga and I couldn't help myself, I definitely had hair envy more than once today! Tomorrow is my day off and I can't wait to do some more exploring! Hoping to spot some REAL Harajuku girls!

GEEEZZZ where has the time gone?!? I have so much going on that my head might just explode! Okay well I'm almost in the clear, as soon as I hop on that plane to TOKYO in a mere 8 hours it should be smooth sailing! Finally all moved into my new apartment which I can say I'm so glad that's over. Now its time for the fun stuff - ORGANIZATION and DECORATION! But that will have to wait until my return from Japan. Since I don't have cable yet, I've been watching my Sex and the City DVDs while unpacking, but I'm starting to wonder if my new neighbors can hear the TV and wonder what I'm up to in here....perhaps I'll find out if they start to look at me funny. Guess who is going to TOKYO next Tuesday...... okay fine I'll tell you - MEEE!!!! Clearly I'm way stoked - I can't even find the words to tell you how excited I am. Have I mentioned lately that I have a PRETTY AMAZING J.O.B.? Well I do. Hard work pays off! I'm over the MOON right now, just one thing standing in between me and my flight to Japan....MOVING. Le sigh. At least I have a 4 day weekend heading my way - all I need is a lil bit of MAN power. I'm looking for any tips or suggestions for while I'm in Tokyo so please let me know if you have any - especially in the SHOPPING arena, duh.

..::Baking for Bridezillllla Part 2::..

Yesterday was the Bridal shower that I spent my weekend baking for and it was such a SUCCESSSSSSS! My sister did an AMAZING job decorating her house and coming up with fun appetizers for the guests to munch on while sipping mojitos and mimosas for the afternoon of Bridezilla activities. Above are the finished products from my Bridezilla Bake-a-thon with my lovely new KitchenAid mixer. Seriously that thing works wonders! The cookies were such a hit and the mini cupcakes were demolished. All in all a successful mission! Next on the baking horizon - BABY SHOWER BAKE-A-THON! Till then...the mixer is now residing in my new apartment waiting for my official move in day. I think I'm still on a SUGAR HIGH...

..::Baking for Bridezillllla Part 1::..

So I know I've been sick all week and kind of in a blah blah mood, but let me just say this: TODAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!

Phew glad I finally got to get that off my chest ;) But seriously being sick is the WORST and being sick during the most BEAUTIFUL week ever is even worse than that. Seriously how do you cuddle up in bed when its 80+ degrees outside? You don't - welcome to my misery this week. I was finally feeling up to par this morning so I headed to work thinking that I might be able to suffer through the day. To my surprise, even though my voice sounded like I had smoked cigis for 100 years, I was feeling pretty good once I got some coffee into my system. I threw myself into the PROM 2010 prop installation and before I knew it the day was almost over. Nothing like wearing a SPARKLY CROWN and playing with DISCO BALLS and streamers to get my motor running!! So here I am thinking I'm having a pretty fantastical day when all of a sudden I stumble upon an email I missed while under my DayQuil/NyQuil haze all week stating something about a BONUS. Surely this was a mistake, I thought to myself. IMAGINE my REACTION when I got home today and checked the mail....I pulled out my bi-weekly paystub and opened it to file away, when out dropped something else. A BONUS CHECK!!! I kid you NOT when I say that I was SHOCKED. I gave myself all of 30 seconds to come back from the shock of the UNEXPECTED check to notice that there was a BLOOMINGDALES flyer in the mail - a flyer for their 1 DAY HOME SALE. UMM HELLO?!? I'm in the midst of moving - BLOOMINGDALES HOME SALE is right up my alley and you know what I found in that flyer....the KitchenAid standing mixer that I've wanted, um probably since forever, is on sale from $399 to $179. I'll let you guess how quickly I was in the car.... Clearly from the pictures you can tell it wasn't long before I was the new proud owner of my very own KitchenAid Mixer. Just in the knick of time too - I'm attending a BRIDAL shower on Sunday for a wedding I'm a BRIDESMAID in and I volunteered to do the dessert table. Here are the before shots....just WAIT until you see the after decoration pictures....my fav part of any baking project, naturally.

Derek Lam RTW SS2010 = good old fashion FUN. Love these looks from his runway show. Something about them just screams YOUNG, FLIRTY, & FRESH. I'm always into classic silhouettes in bold patterns or amazing color combos, and who doesn't love a good SPARKLY dress here and there? These looks definitely have this sniffly nosed girl wishing she wasn't sick so she could go frolic in the AMAZING 80 degree sunshine outside. BOOOOOO! Hoping to finally be feeling better tmrw.
