..::Singing the BLUES

I've wanted to add a blue handbag to my collection for a long time and although I've fallen in love with several over the last year or so - this one takes the cake! Marc Jacobs has stolen my heart for the millionth time. The gold studded details in the cross stitching of the patchwork gives this classic MJ "Stam" a lil bit of edge that really intrigued me. The bag had originally caught my eye from across the room because of the color, but when I got up close and personal with it I just about died....the studs totally won me over and now I'm in big trouble ;)

Desperately trying to get off this nocturnal schedule from work this week, but no avail. Oh well, no rest for the creative mind. Putting my creativity to work and finishing up my Halloween costume - can you guess what I'm going to be? Can't wait to unveil the final product. What are your halloween plans and costume ideas?

Work all night - sleep all day? Yeah that's the idea, however this lil girl could not sleep today because of some street construction that was making it rather difficult. Now I'm off to work (the last night of overnights yay!). Despite my lack of slumbering, these are a few things that did make me smile today....

All That Glitters....

Oh how I love the fall! The fall is the beginning of my favorite time of year - Halloween, Lolopalooza (yes its an official holiday), Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. There are a few reasons I love this time of year, namely 1.) Playing dress up and 2.) Holiday Window Displays. To me, walking down the darkened streets when the stores are closed and peering into the magical window displays, is one of my favorite things about the holiday season (besides snuggling up with a cute boy in front of the fire). There is just something about the holiday season that dusts everything with its magical glow of glitter and lights that I can't help but fall in love with every year. This year will be no exception.

Talk about EYE-CANDY! Designer cupcakes - what will they come up with next?? These tasty lil treats were prop styled by Lisa Edsalv and photographed by Therese Aldgard and I'm betting the million that they taste just as good as they look! Lolopalooza is just around the corner (it begins in 6 days).....perhaps I'll get in the kitchen and mix up a batch of my own designer cupcakes. I haven't forgotten about my cupcake business idea - more on that at a later date when its not quite so top secret!

Adventures in Vancouver

Ohhhh Canada!! The above are pictures from my work adventure to Vancouver where we opened a new store. The last day we finished early and got the chance to explore the Vancouver night life in the Gas Lamp District. We ended up on Cambie Street - the lights that lined the street looked amazing in the cold night air as we navigated our way through the unfamiliar territory; inevitably window shopping as we headed to dinner. We ate such scrumptious food and had Lychee Martinis that were to die for. I fell in love with the gold wallpaper in the private dining room we ate in - so much so Jose took a picture of us with it. At the end of the night we happened to walk by the cast and crew of Twilight who were fliming - sadly I couldn't see Robert Pattison in the comotion. All in all a successful and fun work week!

......Fake Tattoos & Couture - Who Knew?

Karl, Karl, Karl.....His Royal GENIUS strikes the Chanel Spring 2010 Runway in the form of Chanel inspired jewelry tattoos on the wrists and legs of the models. Of course they are temporary, but the small detail = huge impact on the overall look - who knew tattoos went so well with evening wear? I definitely feel inspired............

Now my one question is: where can I get my hands on some? This is just the fix I need since I can't decide on a man let alone something permanently inked on my skin.

Drooling over a new found Designer:

Naeem Khan Spring 2010 RTW

Whoa have I been living under a rock? Seems like I've let my usual fashion curious mind take a break from exploring new things - BAD Lolita!!! I am absolutely drooling over some of Khan's designs - the detail is breath-taking on every piece of his Spring 2010 RTW collection. Khan's use of intricately patterned fabrics, beading and other embellishments definitely reflect his Indian roots, which is perhaps why I'm digging this collection so much - I'm a sucker for anything with great embellishments! I'm also fascinated with the hair on these models. I'm thinking of doing something similar to compliment my halloween costume this year. Keep an eye out - Naeem Khan will soon be on everyone's radar and don't forget you heard it here first!

Forever 21: Fifi Lapin Top

Have I mentioned lately that I'm loving my new job? And as if that wasn't enough - Forever 21 just collaborated with my fav lil bunnie friend Fifi Lapin!!! When I saw this today at work I about died and of course had to buy it. I'm not going to lie - I even put together an adorable lil outfit for one of the mannequins using this top - how could I resist? I've been a fan of Fifi for a long time - her illustrations are a true inspiration and not to mention just adorable.
