I've officially been in a holi-daze for the past 5 days and I've loved every minute of it.

As far as I can remember in recent years, I haven't had 6 days off in a row. I'm feeling rejuvenated and happy and I never want it to end! I heart vacation. On another note, I've found my moto for 2012...The 3 C's of life. Amazing.

In the spirit of giving I'll be attaching a little something extra to everyone's gifts this year as a reminder of just how naughty or nice they have been. I just love fun holiday treats! Tis the season for giving and I'm feeling extra gracious this year (despite my not so gracious budget). Do you know what I dream of - well one of the things I dream of? Having one dedicated room in my future home to design in. A room that looks as beautiful as the things that come out of it. A room I don't have to clean up all the time because it won't also double as my kitchen/living/whatever space I currently use. A room that is chaotically organized. A room full of inspiration and books and baubles. One day it will be mine. I can't wait.

Okay so this stool is amazing. This site is amazing. How in the world am I just now discovering Made Goods?!? Everything on this site is speaking to my design aesthetic - okay not speaking actually its all screaming at me from my screen. This stool for example. Could it be any more amazing? It's a dodecehedron, it's gold, and you can sit on it (or use it as a small table)! And as a bonus if you're not into the stool, there are two smaller versions that you could put on an entry table. If I had a million dollars, I'd spend it here. I wonder how far that would get me....

Tis the season - and I'm SO SO excited! So many exciting things to do and places to go. Its always so unfortunate that this month always flies by with all the fun going on, but the good news it that it happens every year! Here's a cute idea for an alternative advent calendar. There are few times that I come across an artist's website and fall head over heels with almost every piece of artwork I see. Enter ASHLEY LONGSHORE. Wow! How you have stolen my heart! I'm sure these paintings are far out of my price range, but I just can't help my obsession with so many of her pieces. She is clever, witty and undeniably talented. If I ever make it down to New Orleans (which I hope is sooner than later) I'll be sure to track down her studio on Magazine St. for a real looksie. Take a peek, I know you'll agree that she is just the cat's pajamas.

When I was little and I got money for my birthday my parents always told me to save it for a rainy day. At the time I thought the saying was ridiculous, and I would walk downtown to frivolously spend my cash on books and ice cream (which where I grew up, both stores were conveniently located next to one another.) Now that I'm older, I understand the value of my hard earned dollars and I try to save a much as I can. This lil piggy bank is coated with chalkboard so you can write what you're saving for on the outside. If this was mine, I doubt I'd have 401-K on the outside, but still a cute idea. Mine would probably say something like, "CHANEL" but hey that's just me.

Laredo, I will not miss you, but thanks for the laughs and all the free vodka rickeys. I can't wait to get home tomorrow and enjoy a lovely 5 day mini holiday.

Tis the eve of my birthday and here I sit in a hotel in Laredo, TX. This is the third year I've spent my birthday on the road for work - San Fran, Boston, and now Laredo. The first two years were quite spectacular but Laredo has not been stellar so far. At least I checked into a new hotel this morning that promises hot water for my shower in the morning, unlike the establishment I spent the last few nights in. Home or not, I have a feeling that this will be another fabulous year that I am about to embark on. Feeling loved and blessed and in the end thats really all that matters. Here's to the next chapter...Oh and can someone find me this wine glass?! Thanks.

Its a wake up early on accident, large coffee, craft all day kinda of Saturday. Enjoying a relaxing day at home doing things that I've been thinking of doing for months now. Feels so good to accomplish things on your long term goals list! Can't wait to show you what I'm creating. I'm playing with the idea of opening up an etsy shop...more on that to come! Meanwhile, I was playing around on BHLDN.com this morning and was instantly inspired by these adorable lil critter placeholders. Seriously the gold hoves/feet are amazing. I think I've finally figured it out. I think I know why I've abandoned blogging for the last few months and it has nothing to do with my how fabulous my life is. To be honest, I've been unmotivated to blog because of the amount of people who have blogs. I mean EVERYONE and their mother has a blog now. I guess to sum it up I've been feeling not so special anymore, not that was the reason for the blog in the first place, but you know what I mean. There are only so many times in a day that you can hear someone say, "Check out my blog, blah, blah, blah." So what to do now that I've identified the problem? Keep blogging because at the end of the day, I don't do it for anyone else but myself.

Probably the hardest thing about cohabitation is picking stuff to put on the walls. Le sigh. I found this Andy Warhol print that we could agree on for the kitchen, but man, I'm having a tough time in the living room and don't get me started on the bedroom. I don't know that I'll ever been done decorating at the rate I'm moving! I'm open to suggestions if anyone has them...that is if anyone is still reading this thing after my abandonment! Lately I can't get the idea of an "end of bed" bench out of my day dreams. My MANfriend brought up a really great point the other day, "Where do you put your extra pillows when you go to sleep if you don't have something at the end of the bed to put them on." Currently the answer to that question is the floor next to the bed, but later that day his statement began to fuel my desire for such an item for my bedroom. I've been casually looking for such an item, yet nothing I've come across has seemed worthy. The search continues.
