I'd like to wish a VERY Happpy Birthday to my dear friend (and loyal reader) EC!
In honor of her birth I took a little trip to Magnolia Bakery last night to pick up her fav vanilla cupcake for our celebration today. After Monday night's success with my stove, I decided to tackle yet another unused object in my kitchen....the oven. My trip to Magnolia really inspired me to get back into my baking groove. Now using the oven has never been a problem for me, until now. Here's the deal: my stove and oven must be lit EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to use them. You're probably thinking that's not really a big deal and in theory you are correct, however for some reason it took me 8 months to figure out how to light the oven (well I know how, it was more of a where it should be lit kind of situation). Being the stubborn Scorpio I am, I didn't want to ask for help. I wanted to figure it out on my own. Sadly after many failed attempts, I had to call for back up. The fucking thing just wouldn't light and I was determined to bake cupcakes last night. My fellow Scorpio and dudefriend, Ryan, came to my rescue. At one point I was convinced that my cupcake mission would end in disappointment because if I couldn't do it, and a man couldn't figure it out either, I was surely doomed to make a call to the landlord about a faulty oven. BUT Scorpios hate to give up and about an hour later we finally figured it out. Needless to say there were cocktails to celebrate our triumph and 36 beautiful mini cupcakes for EC's birthday. That's what I like to call a birthday miracle!
