..::November Sizzle::..

There are some days that I don't have a single creative thought left in my brain. This week has been full of 90* weather and holiday window displays, which has been an interesting combo to say the least. Waking up before dawn after little sleep is hard, but phone calls that last well into the wee hours of the night are well worth it. Needless to say I've felt a lack of creativity this week, but hoping to be back in full effect next week after a fun filled weekend with the Prince, a Mother - Daughter drinking and shopping adventure and then brunch with my girlfriends. This photograph describes my sentiments towards the heat....too hot for anything but cute, lacey underthings and ice cold champagne.

I've been on the hunt for a bag in this shade of camel for several months. I've come across a few that I like, but there's something about this Rebecca Minkoff that I can't get out of my head. I love the size of it and the fact that I can wear it cross body...who doesn't love having free hands?!? Perhaps this will be my present to myself for Lolopalooza this year....after all I've been a very good girl, well sort of....

Today is day one of Lolopalooza and I can't think of a better way to start birthday month than with date night, especially when date night includes cookies and ice cream.

After one crazy work week installing our Holiday displays and windows, I decided to spend my Friday night on the couch crafting my little heart out. The subject...my Halloween costume. One bottle of wine + 4 decks of playing cards + a hot glue gun = the Queen of Hearts. The wine def helps with the burns from the hot glue and was much needed after a fabulous, but sleepless work week. I'm excited to finish it today for tonight's big party. I'll be in the company of some other fabulous DIY costumes tonight which include....Where's Waldo and The Turtle and the Hare. Isn't it amazing what can be accomplished with a little creativity and a lot of glue? This costume cost me all of $5 worth of cards at the dollar store, which is also a fabulous place for anyone who loves to craft! Seriously, next year I'm opening a costume business...any takers out there for an original Lolita costume? Officially taking orders...

Some days are just not stellar days. Yesterday was not a stellar day. Some idiot girl decided to make a left hand turn across a 3 lane highway and what do you know was there to meet her in the last lane? Yup, the front of my car. SERIOUSLY?! I've never been in a car accident and let me tell you, it was SCARY!! Luckily, I'm easy to bring out of a bad mood if you use the following recipe:

ice coffee + cute texts from the Prince + retail therapy = smiles.

Oh and the color pink. I love this photo. It def made me smile and realize that some things are just not that serious. I'm okay and in the end that's all that matters.

There's something about animal printed items that I've always loved, leopard in particular, but really when done right, any animal print will do. On Saturday I had quite the adventure with my friend S. We started downtown exploring all things CHRISTMAS at two of our fav craft suppliers, then headed mid-town to shop for some up coming events and finally ending our day with a stroll around Rodeo and a trip into Barneys. While we were in Madewell drooling over some necklaces, I spotted this dress and insisted that S try it on for her work party. While the dress remained a strong contender in her persuit for the perfect ensemble, she ultimately found something that was better suited for a work event. I on the other hand, have not been able to stop thinking about going to try this dress on for myself. I'm thinking it just might be the perfect dress for my next date with the Prince. On another note, I can hardly believe that birthday month begins in a week! Where has October gone? Time really
