I've always been enamored with wine labels. I love to hold the bottle and inspect everything from the typography to the color palette. Fast forward a decade and here I am still obsessed with wine labels. Sometimes I even pick my wine based on how pretty the label is. As a designer I know what good design costs - aka the big bucks. No one is going to pay for a nicely designed label if they aren't bottling a worthy brew (okay this theory has been disproved a couple of times, but surprisingly not that many). While I can't take credit for the above find, I can give a big shout out to my Manfriend for adopting my wine picking philosophy and bringing this home to me. He's a keeper.

Its been a tough week for this girl. Getting through the days (and nights for that matter) with pain unlike anything I've felt before, has been extremely difficult. But alas its FRIDAY which means I can take pain meds for the next two days since I don't have to go to work. Hoping next week's forecast is a lot brighter - kinda like this neon door. There are moments when I realize I spend half of my time living in an imaginary world. A world where I can eat whatever I want, drink as much as I want, spend money like I have access to unlimited funds, etc. Then something happens. Something from my real life comes crashing through the imaginary borders of my fake world and I'm suddenly aware that my imaginary world is far from my real one. Last week was definitely a reality check for both myself and my Manfriend. We both suffered physical ailments that left us both couch ridden for the weekend. A weekend of deep contemplation has me considering some major life changes for the near future and I couldn't be more excited! Yes I'm excited about vitamins and extra vegetables and less vices! Here's hoping your weekend was just as productive!

Today was quite the eventful/uneventful day here in Colorado.

After not sleeping all night and googling every possible cause and cure for lower back pain I then googled the nearest Urgent Care. The result was a pinched nerve and back spasms accompanied by a prescription for bed rest and Vicodin. Le sigh. Feeling slightly better after sleeping most of the day. Remember when collecting rubber stamps was cool? I must have had 10 plastic bins full of rubber stamps, for all occasions, tucked away in my closet as a kid in the late 90's. Oh the things I would make with all my stamps and brightly colored inks! The possibilities were endless - as long as there was paper to stamp on, I was making something. Awards Season has arrived! How I love drooling over the red carpet couture at each pre-show event. However, I must admit, I was underwhelmed by the dress selection at the Golden Globes last night. Le sigh. Above are a few of the highlights in my opinion, but I also have a few honorable mentions and a few disses. Stacey Keibler - amazing red dress with fabulous bow detail at the back, Zooey Deschanel - loved the vintage Prada, but hated her hair, and finally I loved Diane Lane's sparkly champagne dress. As for the diss list....what the heck were Heidi Klum, Lea Michelle, and Angelina Jolie thinking?! Such beautiful ladies, such bad choice. Gross.

Okay so this stool is amazing. This site is amazing. How in the world am I just now discovering Made Goods?!? When I was little and I got money for my birthday my parents always told me to save it for a rainy day. At the time I thought the saying was ridiculous, and I would walk downtown to frivolously spend my cash on books and ice cream (which where I grew up, both stores were conveniently located next to one another.) Now that I'm older, I understand the value of my hard earned dollars and I try to save a much as I can. This lil piggy bank is coated with chalkboard so you can write what you're saving for on the outside. If this was mine, I doubt I'd have 401-K on the outside, but still a cute idea. Mine would probably say something like, "CHANEL" but hey that's just me.

Tis the eve of my birthday and here I sit in a hotel in Laredo, TX. This is the third year I've spent my birthday on the road for work - San Fran, Boston, and now Laredo. The first two years were quite spectacular but Laredo has not been stellar so far. At least I checked into a new hotel this morning that promises hot water for my shower in the morning, unlike the establishment I spent the last few nights in. Home or not, I have a feeling that this will be another fabulous year that I am about to embark on. Feeling loved and blessed and in the end thats really all that matters. Lately I can't get the idea of an "end of bed" bench out of my day dreams. My MANfriend brought up a really great point the other day, "Where do you put your extra pillows when you go to sleep if you don't have something at the end of the bed to put them on." Labor day has come and gone. I thought the heat would go with it, but apparently the Los Angeles heat wave of 2011 has just begun. My apartment feels like Africa - no exaggeration here. I fell off the blog-o-sphere yet A-G-A-I-N. This time it was because I spent a few weeks without internet at home and then a few more weeks away every weekend including a relaxing trip to the Cayman Islands to participate in one of my bestie's weddings. One of my all time favorite sayings and so true to my life. I have a passion for the finer things in life however, I've done quite a good job in creating the stylish life I lust after, on my designer's salary. When I was a little girl I dreamed that my wedding ring would come from Tiffany's (obviously I had no clue what kind of price tag was attached to the name "Tiffany's"). After my first visit to the famous fine jewelry retailer, I realized something that the 10 year old me never would have known. These days I care much less about where my ring comes from, but far more about who it comes from. That's the important part after all. But hey a girl can dream right?

Its true... I've fallen in love and this time I'm not talking about a pair of shoes, a party dress, a fancy handbag or a piece of shiny metal. Nope, I mean real LOVE. And because I believe in brutal honesty, I'm here to tell you that's where I've disappeared to the last few weeks. I know I haven't had the best attendance record, but can you blame me? Now to be fair, he's not the only reason I've been in and out of the blogoshpere....work has been insane and I've been out of town almost every weekend for the last month, thus leaving my free time for cooking in my new kitchen and vegging out in front of a movie after a long day. I'm looking forward to the end of July when the craziness hopefully comes to a halt. Until then I plan to enjoy as much of my free time as possible and hopefully getting some work done on my new apartment!

Last week I received one of the biggest compliments of my life from a complete stranger. I arrived home from the gym on Friday afternoon to a crowd of people standing outside my apartment door. I was sweaty and not in the mood to entertain, but I quickly realized my apartment manager was among the bunch. Clearly she was about to show my apartment without asking me and that had me a little peeved. Luckily she was showing it to a cute blonde girl who was accompanied by her mom and sister and I could see the excitement on her face, so I remained calm and collected and graciously invited them in to take a look around. I was happy to see that someone had made my bed for me that morning (scoring some major brownie points due to this impromptu apartment viewing). The young girl walked around gushing over how perfect the apartment was and how she wanted to decorate it just like I had done. Her mom agreed and added, "It looks like something right out of Apartment Therapy." WOW! I was floored and beyond excited by the wonderful compliment to my decorating and design skills. Needless to say I'm even more excited to begin decorating my new apartment. The moving countdown has begun...

Time. Time. TIME. There's never enough of it, right? At least that's how I always feel. I'm off to Vegas this afternoon for the rest of the week to do a major installation. As always things will be slightly hectic, but oh so rewarding once we are finished. I know its only Monday, but I can't wait to be sitting on the plane coming home on Friday to celebrate a special someone's birthday for the weekend. I've got all sorts of tricks up my sleeve and keeping secrets has never been my forte so I'm ready for it all to come out already! Till then....tick tock goes the clock. On a side note, I think this is a really cute idea for a wall in a living room. Now I'm wishing I would've picked up the pink vintage clock I spotted at the flea market yesterday. Oh well. It's funny how sometimes what I'm doing in real life seems to pop up via the internet at the same time. I know I'm usually one for spewing every thought I have in my little head, but for some reason I've been a little more quite and M.I.A. compared to normal. I'm not sure why. Maybe my superstitious side is coming through and I'm afraid to jinx what I already believe is too good to be true. After passing this book several times in Anthropologie I finally decided to pick it up and give it a try. Not particularly for any reason other than the sheer fact that we can all benefit from learning from someone else's journey. Even though I wouldn't classify myself as "UNHAPPY" at the point that I finally decided to buy the book, but I will say I was in a slight funk and this was just what I needed apparently. I'm only half way through it, but so far I definitely think it's worth recommending. And on that note I've decided to start a book club and I'm pretty excited about it!

Lately I've been inundated with apartment envy. Okay make that space envy. I live in a studio apartment and although I love my Beverly Hills address, I've been thinking about leaving my tiny abode in a quest for more space. However, after watching this video of Felice Cohen in her 90 sq ft apartment in NYC, I feel that I have more than enough space! Perhaps that's an exaggeration, but I do feel like my space is possibly the perfect size for me. Sure I could use another closet, but won't that always be the case for a fashion lover like myself?! I think so. Thinking I'll stay put for a little while longer. Maybe some redecorating or furniture arranging is in order? Besides, just the thought of moving has already exhausted me.

A 12 day hiatus...WOW. I've been MIA in more ways than one.

Where shall I begin? My trip to the Philippines started off with a bang and ended with silence. I'm not going to recount the details, because quite frankly its now in the past and I'm sick of talking about it. I landed last Thursday night and immediately went to In & Out. I spent my long weekend trying to combat my horrendous case of jet lag and catch up with my long lost friends, which only resulted in me getting a nasty head cold. The last few days I've come home from work hit the bottle of Ny-quil and was out like a light until sunrise. BUT, I'm back. And that my friends is the point. Everyone needs a little break every once in a while. That's life and now my life must go back to it's normally scheduled programing. I've missed it here. Did you miss me? Speaking of my life, I've been utterly obsessed with all things tribal as of late. This Free People shoot nails it. Love it.

April already?! That happened fast. I guess I've just been having a little too much fun lately and the time has just been flying by. A little exhausted from traveling, but enjoying my time in the Philippines. I can't think of a better way to end the first day of the month than by sitting pool side, having cocktails at sunset with coworkers/old friends. Oh and I may be on the other side of the world, but I did hear that the Dodgers beat the Giants. Way to start the season. Life is beautiful.
